Goal for the Day: Rediscover Your Wonder

When we were children, we were easily fascinated by the most insignificant of things.  We had a sense of wonder about us.  Everything was interesting.  Everything was new.  Now, we tend to take things for granted.  We’re no longer intrigued by the mere nature of the world.  There’s not much that we haven’t seen before.  However, there’s still a lot about the world that can hold our interest if only we’ll take the time to notice it.  Our universe is a miraculous place.  The way everything works in relative harmony (unless we find ways to add a layer of chaos to it) is quite interesting.  Today, take a few minutes to rediscover the sense of wonder you had as a child.  Look at the clouds as they move across the sky, notice how the color of your walls seems to change with the light.  Play a game with your family or friends.  Realize the beauty in the things you encounter every day.  If we can build up a sense of excitement in our daily lives, we can chase away the inevitable boredom that creeps up on us when we least expect it.

That is part of what makes your Mr. Punch character so interesting. His wonder at everything that's new to him, his joy at playing with baby Fuller, the fun he has with his pup Toby and even counting Robert's toes and wondering if he has the same amount.
We all can find more joy in the world if we look at things wth "new" eyes.
