Reminder: Punch’s Cousin Returns On Monday

Last week, in Punch’s Cousin, we saw Ulrika Rittenhouse’s desperate attempt to trick Iolanthe Evangeline into returning Arthur to her. Iolanthe had abducted Arthur and shipped him out to sea. She demanded that Ulrika return the Molliner Blue diamond to her in exchange for Arthur. Ulrika thought she could fool Iolanthe with a hastily-made fake. However, Iolanthe immediately spotted the deception and didn’t react kindly to it.

Meanwhile, Mr. Punch agreed to hire Charles Van Eyck as his new valet. However, he noticed that Charles’ cufflinks bore a different set of initials. Charles admitted that his real name was Carlo Iantosca, and that he was living a life “on the run.” Charles then met up with Barbara Allen and insisted that she be completely honest with him. As they were talking, they spotted Iolanthe and Ulrika on the docks. Iolanthe appeared to be dragging Ulrika somewhere against her will. When confronted, Ulrika and Iolanthe both covered their tracks. Barbara asked Charles to return Ulrika home so that she could speak with Iolanthe. Iolanthe wasted no time in taunting Barbara with the news that her husband was missing. How will Barbara react? We’ll find out this week.

Mr. Punch had his own worries as he agreed to help Julian remember the parts of their collective past the Mr. Punch had long tried to keep secret. Inside the imaginary room inside of Julian, the two halves watched as a macabre drama unfolded in front of them. Mr. Punch watched helplessly as scenes of Julian’s mother, his nanny and the odious man known as “The Professor.”

This week, we’ll see the rest of Julian’s buried memories and watch as Punch and “his master” deal with the aftermath of these long-hidden thoughts. It will prove to be an interesting and emotional week.

Many thanks to those of you who comment on Punch’s Cousin and to all of you who have been reading. Have a great week!
