Person of the Week: Lauren Lane

C.C. Babcock, Maxwell Sheffield’s long-suffering business partner, lived in a perpetual state of unrequited love throughout six seasons of The Nanny. Chastity Claire’s portrayer, Lauren Lane, however has had her love requited—her love for theater.

Best known to world-wide audiences for her roles on television programs such as Hunter, L.A. Law and The Nanny, Miss Lane is much more than the cool, attractive blonde that she plays on the small screen. An accomplished and extremely versatile actress, Lane is one of the brightest stars of the American stage. Her ability to fully realize a character is legendary. Now, she teaches those skills to eager young actors at Texas State University in San Marcos Texas.

For all of the many hours of delight she’s brought us with her own work and for the many more hours of joy she’s fostering through her teaching, Lauren Lane is our “Person of the Week.”

Good choice.I still laugh every time I watch reruns of "The Nanny" even though I've seen them many times before, the whole cast worked so well together and Miss Lane's "C.C." was a big part of it.

That was such a great ensemble. They all played so well off of one another and had remarkable chemistry with their fellow actors.

Great choice. She was my favorite on the Nanny. Since then, she's done amazing things with her life. As you know, she decided that LA was no place to raise a child and no place for a 40-year old actress, so she took her daughter back to Texas and has been teaching and receiving rave reviews for her stage work. Seems like a very admirable woman.
